Series A170 ATEX AISI 316 Stainless Steel Direct-Acting Solenoid Valves Ultravalve supplies the Series A170 2 way normally closed direct-acting poppet solenoid valve for reliable on/off flow isolation in hazardous area applications. Manufactured with an AISI 316 stainless steel body, armature tube and springs, the A170 is designed for demanding industrial environments where corrosion resistance and hazardous area certification are required. The direct-acting poppet design allows operation from 0 bar differential pressure, making it suitable for systems where pressure assistance cannot be relied upon. Full Hazardous Area Certification: Features an ATEX certified explosion-proof coil for gas and dust hazardous areas: ATEX II 2GD Ex d IIC T6/T5/T4 Gb IP66 and Ex tb IIIC T85°C/T100°C/T135°C Db IP66. Stainless Steel Construction: Manufactured with an AISI 316 body, armature tube and springs, with AISI 430FR plunger and core, silver shading ring, and seal options including NBR, FPM or EPDM. Direct-Acting Performance: The direct-acting poppet design enables operation from 0 bar minimum differential pressure, supporting low pressure and intermittent-duty systems. Defined Pressure Handling: Supports a maximum allowable pressure of PS 80 bar, with maximum differential operating pressure dependent on the selected orifice and AC/DC coil configuration. Fluid Compatibility: Suitable for fluids with maximum viscosity up to 25 cSt, subject to material and seal compatibility. Continuous Electrical Duty: Rated for ED100% continuous service, supporting continuous coil energisation in demanding industrial applications. Coil Housing Options: Available with either a standard red coloured alloy housing coil A6 or stainless steel housing coil X6 to suit application requirements. Flexible Installation: Available with G1/4, G3/8 and G1/2 ISO 228 threaded connections, alongside a 1/2" NPT electrical connection, with M20x1 available on request. Mounting Requirement: Designed for installation with the coil mounted vertically above the valve body.
