Series 340 Railway 3 Way Direct Acting Solenoid Valve Ultravalve supplies the Series 340 family of 3 way direct-acting poppet type solenoid valves for high-performance railway applications. Manufactured with an acetal copolymer body and designed for compact flange mounting, the Series 340 range is intended for compatible air and neutral gas systems requiring dependable directional control from 0 bar differential pressure. Available in normally closed, normally open and universal configurations across the Series 340 family, these valves control and redirect flow depending on the specified valve code, subject to correct specification, media compatibility and installation. High Performance 3 Way Control for Railway Applications Ultravalve’s Midlands based warehouse offers the Series 340 range from stock, subject to configuration and current availability. Designed to support railway maintenance, system integration and compatible pneumatic control requirements, these valves help provide compact replacement options for low-volume, high-performance air and neutral gas applications. Railway Application Design: The Series 340 family is dedicated to railway high-performance applications, with CAT 2 CEI EN 61373 certified valves available on request. Direct-Acting 3 Way Performance: The 3 way direct-acting poppet type design enables electrically actuated flow control and redirection from a minimum differential pressure of 0 bar. Compact Flange Integration: Designed with flange fixing for direct mounting into compatible equipment or manifold-style assemblies, using M3 screws with a maximum torque of 0.5 Nm. Defined Pressure & Flow: Differential pressure ratings reach up to 10 bar on selected configurations, with other higher-flow variants listed up to 6 bar. Available with Kv values from 0.02 to 0.035 m³/h, depending on orifice size and valve configuration. Material & Seal Construction: Manufactured with an acetal copolymer body and acetal copolymer/stainless steel internal parts. Seal materials are listed as NBR + FPM or NBR + Silicone, depending on valve code and application compatibility. Railway Electrical Features: Uses 15 mm coils with Class F insulation, ED100% continuous duty and ±10% voltage tolerance. DC voltage options include 12V, 24V, 32V, 48V, 72V and 110V, with AMP 2.8 x 0.5 electrical connection as standard. Cable and DIN 43650C connections are available on request. Protection, Temperature & Response: Protection is listed as IP65 for cable versions, and IP00 for fast-on versions unless a connector is fitted, where IP65 applies. Fluid temperature is listed up to +50°C, ambient temperature from -15°C to +50°C, and response time from 10 to 15 ms. Options & Configuration Guidance: Available with enclosed bi-stable manual override, universal mounting position, cable attached versions, special coil voltages and special coil powers. Electrical connection orientation and interface gasket options are defined by valve code selection. With over 30 years’ experience and an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, Ultravalve provides dependable valve solutions for UK industry.
