Series 168 Brass 2 Way Normally Closed Assisted-Lift Solenoid Valve Ultravalve supplies the Series 168 2 way normally closed assisted-lift diaphragm solenoid valve for automated on/off flow isolation in thermoregulation and industrial systems. Constructed with a brass body and FPM seals, the Series 168 is designed for compatible thermoregulation, pneumatic, sweeper, industrial automation, air and water applications requiring dependable normally closed operation from 0 bar differential pressure. In its standard de-energised state, the valve prevents flow and opens when energised, subject to correct specification, media compatibility and installation. Assisted-Lift Control for Thermoregulation and Industrial Automation Ultravalve’s Midlands based warehouse offers a wide range of Series 168 valves from stock, subject to configuration and current availability. Designed to support maintenance projects, thermoregulation circuits, pneumatic systems, sweepers, industrial automation and general process control applications, these valves help provide fast replacement options for urgent pipework requirements. Assisted-Lift Performance: The 2 way normally closed assisted-lift diaphragm design enables electrically actuated flow isolation from 0 bar minimum differential pressure. Defined Pressure & Flow: Supports a maximum allowable pressure of PS 16 bar, with maximum differential operating pressure dependent on connection size, orifice and coil configuration. Orifice sizes range from 11 mm to 40 mm, with Kv values from 1.2 to 16.8 m³/h. Connection & Installation Guidance: Features ISO 228 threaded fluid connections from G3/8 to G1 1/2, with NPT connections available as an option. The preferred mounting position is with the vertical coil above, as stated in the product data sheet. Brass Construction: Manufactured with a brass body and cover, an AISI 303 armature tube, an AISI 430FR plunger and core, and AISI 302 springs. Seal & Media Suitability: Equipped with FPM seals as standard, with NBR available on request. Suitability depends on valve code, media, pressure, temperature and application compatibility. Maximum fluid viscosity is limited to 25 cSt, and the listed fluid temperature range is -10°C to +140°C. Electrical Protection & Coil Options: Uses Series 2 and Series 5 coil options, including 10 W, 14 W and 27 W configurations depending on version. Protection is IP65 with the connector fitted correctly and IP00 without connector, using DIN 43650A electrical connection with PG9 or PG11 connector options. Ambient temperature is listed from -10°C to +80°C according to the coil. Steam Application Constraint: The maximum allowable pressure for steam applications is strictly limited to PS 2.5 bar gauge. Configuration Options: Available options include NPT connections, ATEX Ex d coils, certified coils, Class H insulation for Series 2, cable attached versions, special coil voltages, special coil powers and versions degreased for use with oxygen, subject to correct specification. With over 30 years’ experience and an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, Ultravalve provides dependable valve solutions for UK industry.
