Series 117 Brass 2 Way Servo-Assisted Bi-Stable Solenoid Valve Ultravalve supplies the Series 117 2 way servo-assisted bi-stable diaphragm solenoid valve for energy efficient on/off flow isolation in compatible industrial systems. Constructed with a brass body and cover, the Series 117 is designed for fluid handling applications requiring latching operation, allowing the valve to maintain its switched state without continuous coil energisation. The bi-stable function is achieved using a polarized NeFeB permanent magnet, with a DC current impulse of at least 15 ms required in the reverse direction of the previous impulse to change state, subject to correct specification, media compatibility, installation and minimum differential pressure. Energy Efficient Bi-Stable Control for Industrial Fluid Systems Ultravalve’s Midlands based warehouse offers a wide range of Series 117 valves from stock, subject to configuration and current availability. Designed to support industrial automation, water treatment, packaging equipment, compressors, filling machines, irrigation, thermoregulation and general industrial pipework applications, these valves help provide fast replacement options where continuous coil energisation is not practical or desired. Bi-Stable Latching Operation: Uses a polarised NeFeB permanent magnet, requiring a DC current impulse for at least 15 ms in the reverse direction of the previous impulse to change and hold its state. Servo-Assisted Performance: The 2 way servo-assisted diaphragm design requires a minimum differential pressure of 0.15 bar to operate effectively. Defined Pressure & Flow: Supports a maximum allowable pressure of PS 25 bar, with maximum differential operating pressure dependent on valve size, orifice and coil power. Selected configurations reach up to 15 bar differential pressure. Orifice sizes range from 10 mm to 30 mm, with Kv values from 1.5 to 15 m³/h. Connection & Installation Guidance: Features ISO 228 threaded fluid connections from G1/4 to G1 1/4, depending on the selected version. The preferred mounting position is with the vertical coil above, as stated in the product data sheet. Brass Construction: Manufactured with a brass body and cover, an AISI 303 armature tube, an AISI 430FR plunger and core, a NeFeB magnet and AISI 302 springs. Seal & Fluid Compatibility: Seal materials are listed as NBR, FPM and EPDM, with suitability dependent on valve code, media, pressure, temperature and application compatibility. Maximum fluid viscosity is limited to 25 cSt. Electrical Duty & Protection: Uses DC coil options with voltage tolerance of ±10%. Coil powers include 2 W, 5 W and 6.5 W options, depending on voltage and configuration. Protection is IP65 with the connector fitted correctly and IP00 without connector, with DIN 46244 electrical connection and PG9 connector. Ambient temperature suitability is listed from -10°C to +80°C according to the coil selected. Steam & Configuration Options: The maximum allowable pressure for steam applications is strictly limited to PS 2.5 bar gauge. Available options include Class H insulation, cable attached versions, special coil voltages and special coil powers, subject to correct specification. With over 30 years’ experience and an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system, Ultravalve provides dependable valve solutions for UK industry.
